Mechanical Engineer
The Mechanical Engineer I will be responsible for conceptualize and design automated equipment according to internal specification; should be capable of working with the Mechanical Engineering Lead on any size project.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary:
- Under the guidance of the Lead Mechanical Engineer:
- Help design cam, servo, and air operated stations and to make changes to existing designs.
- Execute cam (drive) design.
- Ensure the design is functional, robust, and cost effective.
- Research and specify appropriate materials and purchased components.
- Help create detail drawings, assembly drawings, bill of materials, organize release packages and update drawings.
- Participate in internal and customer design reviews.
- Prepare pneumatic and timing diagrams and select appropriate sensors.
- Work with suppliers to find/develop the most functional and economical solutions to design issues.
- Work under the confines of the project schedule and budget.
- Problem-solve design or detail issues and update all appropriate documentation.
- Learn to innovate and use good judgment to incorporate ATS Life Sciences Chicago standards and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate ideas and comprehend information both verbally and in written form.
- Assimilate well within a team and exhibit objectivity and openness to others’ views.
- Follow all policy and procedures to adhere to International Standardization Organization (ISO) 9001 and 13485 certification requirements.
